Great Courses 2018

The next Great Courses series at the Tryon Fine Arts Center is on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. This popular series will be held on the second Tuesday of the month, from January through April.. Each session will last approximately 90 minutes.

Great Courses features a series of DVDs augmented with discussions,  The program will focus on music with a discussion of Solo Piano Works led by Dr. Elizabeth Child.

Dr. Child, received her doctorate in performance from the Julliard School, a master’s degree from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree from Converse College. Well-known for her combination of dramatic intensity and intimate communication, She currently operates a piano studio in Tryon.

Coffee, hot teas, and pastries will be provided at the Great Courses. There is no cost for the series thanks to an anonymous sponsor. Seating is limited to 45 people, so attendees are asked to reserve their place in the series in advance.
